notes: This is about the real panic room situation that Dean and Bobby kept Sam confined in, and the figurative master-servant, right-wrong, superior-inferior relationship between Dean and Sam. And it's about them caring for each other, still, because I'm mushy like that.

First, however, a quick note on the importance the lyrics really had on the idea for the vid, and how they reflect the 2 things previously mentioned, both the literal and the figurative. Sam has always been in Dean's shadow, following the footsteps of his father and his brother. When Sam finally comes into his own, he finds out the darker part of his soul does exist and is powerful. He makes mistakes, he drinks demon blood, he no longer wants to listen to his brother because he doesn't think Dean is right this time. It all stems from Sam failing to save Dean from hell/Lilith. Sam tries to atone for his mistakes, but the damage has already been done. Dean no longer trusts him. Even if both brothers are susceptible to their inner demons, Sam has failed Dean. He doesn't know if he'll ever be rid of Dean's disappointment or his distrust. Sam doesn't know if he'll ever be let out of this prison.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this vid. I worked on it all weekend - it was the only thing I did. Some transitions still bug me but I'll live. Hope it's not too jumbled or confusing. I'd love to know what you got out of it.

I've always loved this song and that album - Songs of Faith and Devotion - is possibly my favorite Depeche Mode album ever. Though they have other great songs scattered all over each of their albums. They are seriously one of the greatest bands. Back in high school I went to a concert of theirs and even went to Dave Gahan's solo concert and both were SPECTACULAR!

sorry, totally rambling at you aren't I? Gah.

But I am SO GLAD you liked it! I always thought it'd go great with SPN too. YAY! :D

And I did. I liked it very much indeed. I am not a fan of the bondage...nor...for that matter...slash or brotherly love, but there is something about the Winchester boys that crosses almost all barriers. I was rewatching It's a Terrible Life tonight and chuckling at how everything Sam says to Dean sounds slightly naughty and each clash of their gazes reads like an unseemly proposition. And it doesn't hurt when these themes are presented in fic or vid form in such an artistic way. You really do bring the class to this video. I very much enjoyed the song, which was new to me...but then...so many songs are new to me. Sadly, I never listen to the radio, so I only find music via vids. I used to listen to Depeche Mode though...still...I don't recall this song.

Anyway, very glad to have downloaded your vid. I think I shall poke around and see if I can find something else by you. For one weekend of work, this is quite masterful, with stunning visuals and gut wrenching emotions that really pull the viewer into your story. My vids usually take weeks...and don't turn out this well.

This was absolutely fantastic. I have fallen a bit of the show (primarily because of the schedule here) you made me remember how awesome the images are, the blood...the effects, that frame of Castiel and the wings. It's also the way you cut the scenes, love that song and the inclusion of wee!chesters.
