Summary: Jack, the past, the present, and how hard it is to let go.
Notes: Thanks to the brilliant [info]sol_se and [info]tnt_dynamite for being my test audience, you rock. Also, I really believe you should consider watching this through the downloaded file (and not in Youtube) because otherwise it loses some of its effect.

The song I found through this fanmix by [info]boxed, and completely fell in love with it. It screamed to be made into a Jack vid. I hope all the connections can be seen throughout the vid, I really wanted those to come through. This was such a blast to make, more complex than my first vid yet it took less time! My favorite sequence has to be the one starting with Nine dancing with Rose on the TARDIS through the TARDIS leaving and the fade in of Jack. Least favorite part would have to be the Janto kiss near the end with the sharp cut - simply because I'm a bit iffy on the sharp cut, heh.

Oh that was really lovely! That song works so well for Jack. And your clip choice was ace. You told Jack's tale very well. I especially loved the section with the other Cpt. Jack at 2:48 because of that beautiful ghosting. Great job!

(And can I ask what ep the shot at 2:55 is from? I've been searching for Jack-emoing-on-roof shots for a while now.)

thank you! That means a lot to me coming from you :D The shot from 2:55 is from 'Adam', about 24:43 mins in (after Ianto splish-splashes in the rain.)

Extremely glad you liked the ghosting/blur effect used there, I was struggling for a while of how to transition there. I've been told it has a watercolor effect, which is awesome! Heh.

And Jack emo's on rooftops so well, doesn't he?

Yay! I really, really love this vid. (I've already gone on in detail to you, so I won't bore you with repeating everything.) I think the change on the Suzie section turned out great. I love the subtle bit of black & white there on the end. And in rewatching it, I just realized that by doing that you mirrored a small bit of black & white later on (2:10).

Like I said before, I love the visual parallels & sequences, like the hands sequence (2:08), and the dancing (2:18), and Jack putting the photo to his lips followed by Jack holding Owen's hand to his lips (3:09).

I love the structure of your storytelling here and the way you've connected the TW & DW footage. Basically, I LOVE THIS VIDEO!

Wow! Beautiful!

Totally made me cry. I love your song choice. The ending was fantastic! I really enjoyed the part near the end with the clips of Jack and then the flashbacks of his past. Truly beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful video!! Really is the perfect song for Jack because no matter how hard it is he does have to let go eventually. I especially liked all the mirroring in the video with different situations like the dancing with Ianto, Rose and the real Capt'n Jack etc.

I thought this was gorgeous - your clip choices were perfect, and the story you told came through beautifully. Poor Jack, always letting go! I especially like the way that you made those scenes that are nominally about Jack giving comfort to someone else - Owen or Gwen or the other dude whose name I forget - into scenes about how there's no one to comfort Jack, about how Jack needs to hold on. Awesome.

Very pretty! I like the song a lot and I like your editing choices. I've only seen 3 or 4 episodes of TW, but I followed it quite easily :D

Oh wow. I loved this so much. Often, I feel like I don't really 'get' vids, but I was there with every second of this one. The song is spot on for Jack, and I loved the way you put the different relationships against each other, and the sense of loss as well as carrying on was just perfect for Jack. Wonderful.

I really loved how appropriate the music was. You incorporated the loss that seems to litter Jack's life into a larger picture that really gave me a glimpse of who he is and why he is that way. Thanks, I enjoyed it!

And in turn here via [info]topaz_eyes - oh, wow. Watched this a few times now and I absolutely love it. The song is amazing, and I believe this is the first vid that's had me close to tears. It's just-- gah, Jack, he absolutely kills me. Beautiful work! The slow fade out with the scenes from 'Exit Wounds' was particularly wonderful.
